I grew up in a family that loved Jesus and loved his Church. Witnessing my parents commitment to Jesus and their dedication to our church remains an incredible gift that has shaped and shepherded my life. As the psalmist writes in Psalm 16, “Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”
While at college, I lost my connection with the church. I never abandoned my relationship with Jesus, but I bought into the belief that all you need is personal relationship with Jesus and any regular involvement with the local church is extra credit. After years away from the church, my life showed the slow erosion of my faith and my witness that happens without the church. At that moment, God sent my future husband, into my life. Ryan convinced me to come to Rez and even though there was a lot going on that I didn’t understand (incense!), I was intrigued. Twelve years later I am still blown away by the beauty, worship, tradition, and Holy Spirit vibrancy present in all of Resurrection’s ministries.
I want everyone to know the joy and hope that comes from being in a relationship with Jesus and his Church. Ryan and I are raising our 3 boys to know their “delightful inheritance” in the Lord. We love living in Wheaton, adventuring with our 3 young boys, and drinking copious amounts of coffee to keep up!
In my role as Executive Pastor of staff, I have the privilege of leading our staff team throughout the week and crafting new ministries. I work to make sure our team is resourced and released to do their work in all of their ministry areas. In addition to staff leadership, I oversee Gregory House, which is our ministry school for discipling and training future church-planters, leaders and artists as we work towards a revival of word and sacrament.
