Walk Across the Street

Building friendships with black churches in Chicago

For the past few years, our diocese has been in an intentional ministry partnership with True Freedom Cornerstone, a primarily black church in Oak Park, IL. In an effort to build friendship and connection, Pastor Michael Wright (the pastor of True Freedom) and Missioner General William Beasley of the Greenhouse Movement are calling our diocese to form multiple teams of about eight people each to visit different black churches throughout the West Side of Chicago. These churches are all friends of True Freedom, and the purpose of these visits will be to build friendship and Gospel communion with one another. We are excited about this movement to oppose racism through worship, fellowship, and praying together. As Pastor Wright says, it's not an invitation to a program, but rather an invitation to relationship. Join us as we Walk Across the Street
