THEME: Crafting a Rule of Life: Living Intentionally in a Distracted World
In this technological age and in the hustle and bustle of the suburbs, it’s easy to be pushed around by the forces of busyness and distraction. These realities challenge our effectiveness spiritually, relationally, and vocationally – nothing less than our manhood is at stake. Creativity, brotherhood, mastery, ingenuity, joy, leading ourselves and others — key elements of our manhood — each require space and time to cultivate. As we order our lives accordingly, life becomes fruitful and full of purpose. Above all, crafting a Rule of Life ensures that we are building our lives on no other foundation than Jesus Christ and the mission of His Kingdom. At this retreat, we want to take a closer look at the Benedictine Rule of Life and invite the Holy Spirit to order our lives in such a manner that we become the men of God that He has purposed us to be.
“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
