In early January, we'll be celebrating moments early in Jesus' ministry. The Feast of the Holy Name of our Lord celebrates his circumcision and his full humanity.
"On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived." Luke 2:21
Epiphany Sunday observes the revelation of Jesus to the Magi as the King of all nations. At his baptism, the voice of the Father from heaven reveals Jesus as the Son of God. All of these events point to Jesus as God and man, the great light who has dawned into the world, the bright and Morning Star!
