Today the women on our team will accompany Maeko, the Japanese worker at the Center, on outreach to women in the bars. The workers are few here. The rule is you must go out two by two, never alone to do outreach in the bars. Yesterday our taxi driver unloaded us from his red covered pick-up in front of a gated Thai temple with curved golden horns reaching skyward. Directly across the street from this temple is the Garden of Hope’s Center. It was either the pitter-patter of Gabe’s feet running across the concrete, or it was our prayers pitter-pattering upward to God from the small room in the Chaing-Mai childrens drop-in center. We are so excited to finally be here! We traveled together to the airport on Monday morning for the first leg of the trip—a thirteen hour flight to Seoul, Korea where we had a five hour layover.
