Choosing Celibacy
On an ordinary Tuesday last spring, the Dean of Student Life at an evangelical Christian college in the Midwest said to me, her graduate assistant, "Marcy, the evangelical culture of our campus does a lot to prepare its students for the inevitability of marriage, but we do little to set them up for singleness. We need to do better. You should be the one to speak with them," she decided, "and the title of your talk should be, 'Single by Choice.'"

As you may have noticed at church yesterday, Chris Easley, one of the teenagers at Church of the Resurrection, has written a book, and he did a signing during RezCafe. If you didn’t know he wrote a book, let alone had a book signing complete with snacks—that’s all right—Chris is about to tell you all about it. Why We Celebrate All Saint’s Day
I grew up in France, where All Saint’s day (“Toussaint”) is a national holiday celebrated mainly by a two-week vacation for schoolchildren. I’m a new mother. Fresh. Utterly inexperienced. My husband and I have not yet earned witty anecdotes or sage truths to share at parties. My little girl is brand new, too. While her personality was shockingly evident in the very beginning, her formation happens slowly everyday. Our little family is trying to figure this thing out together, so we hold fast to God’s promise found in Proverbs.
