This Lent, we asked some of our Resurrection artists and writers to engage with the Bible passages that are the focus of our Lenten sermon series, “Conversations with Jesus.” Today’s piece is a collection of art drawn by our children. It represents scenes from the woman at the well as well as other Bible stories.

Last year was the first annual Lessons and Carols service at Church of the Resurrection, and even though I was in the choir, I think that one of my favorite moments was at the dress rehearsal a few days prior to the event, when the children's choir joined us for the first time. After months of preparation, we in the "big choir" got to hear for the first time the voices of the children of the church as they partnered with us to prepare some of the traditional carols and anthems we would be singing in the service. Their presence brought a sense of vitality and energy to the music that can only be present when children are.

I’m a new mother. Fresh. Utterly inexperienced. My husband and I have not yet earned witty anecdotes or sage truths to share at parties. My little girl is brand new, too. While her personality was shockingly evident in the very beginning, her formation happens slowly everyday. Our little family is trying to figure this thing out together, so we hold fast to God’s promise found in Proverbs.

When in Rome, act like the Romans do! Janet, Kristan and the rest of the children’s ministry leaders took this phrase to heart as they transformed the Ministry Center into 1st century Rome last week for this year’s Vacation Bible School. The theme was Rome: Paul and the Underground Church. Each night, over a hundred kids from the age of 4 through 5th grade poured in for an ...Continue Reading
