At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus says to Martha, "Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"
Martha believes, but does not expect to see the glory of God in action.
The glory of God destroys death with LIFE.
Before his death, Jesus says, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds."
Jesus pours out his life unto death. The fallen and dead Seed rises to new life, producing many seeds, the glory of God in action.
This Lent our family wrote confessions on paper and burned them in a pot of dirt. Into this mess, this burned pile of our sins, we planted wheat seeds. The life of Jesus planted right into the dirt and death of our lives. Where Jesus is planted, life always rises.
Join us in giving your sin, fears and losses to Jesus. You will see the glory of God in action.
On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
he will remove his people's disgrace
from all the earth.
The LORD has spoken.
