In this edition of the Clergy Corner, Fr. Stewart talks about his family vacation and summer sabbatical studies at Nashotah House Seminary.

Dear Beloved Resurrection Family:
Greetings in the name of our Lord!
I am writing to update you on my summer sabbatical. As I mentioned on Sunday June 17, we had an excellent family vacation together in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Washington, DC, and then with Katherine’s sister in Ohio. We are so grateful for the many who prayed (vacations with many children…some of them quite young…are not always great get-aways!) and for the vestry gave us this time for an extended break. We stayed at a pastors’ retreat in the Eastern Tennessee Blue Ridge Mountains (so much hiking, bluegrass music, and swimming in streams) and then with family in DC.
During July and early August, I will be taking three classes at Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin. These classes include Sacred Architecture and Liturgy, Monastic History, and 1 Corinthians with the scholar Canon Kenneth Bailey. I am greatly anticipating each of them—especially 1 Corinthians which includes a preaching workshop.
I will be home on the weekends and leading the services on most Sundays in that time frame.
Please pray for me as I study and pray and seek Jesus for his vision for Resurrection in our next chapter of ministry. Pray also for Katherine and the children.
With much love and affection,
Father Stewart
