Confirmation: What Is It, Anyway?
As a liturgical church, Resurrection is serious about the sacraments. We get really excited about baptisms (just ask the ten babies that were baptized at Easter Vigil!),  partaking in the Eucharist, and celebrating marriage. But what about a sacrament like Confirmation, which may not be as familiar to many of us? Rezblog co-editor Tiffany Brenneman interviewed Community Care Coordinator Val McIntyre about her experience being confirmed this April, and then got the inside scoop about confirmation from our very own liturgical expert, Fr Stephen Gauthier.

Ash Wednesday Ekphrasis: An Encouter of Word and Art
Ekphrasis, the Greek word meaning “to proclaim or call an inanimate object by name,” is traditionally a verbal or visual description of another work of art. At heart, it seeks to allow one medium of art to encounter another, and to allow one artist to step into the world of a fellow creator. This Ash Wednesday, three Resurrection artists offer the ekphrastic results of their time spent with van Gogh’s “Pietà.” This poem, reflection, and painting are meant to lead you into a time of reflective worship as we enter into the season of Lent.
