Neighborhood-Based Groups
Nate & Leah Anderson Community Life Group – We meet weekly with an emphasis on building community through prayer and liturgy. Each week we’ll participate in evening prayer taken from the Book of Common Prayer, share individual prayer requests and pray for one another. Tasty snacks and informal fellowship are also a staple of our time together.

Brad & Kim Johnson Community Life Group — We meet for a potluck dinner, fellowship, Compline, and prayer. No formal childcare is provided but children are welcome. Atmosphere is informal so that parents can feel free to come and go from prayer to attend to the needs of their children. Please bring a Book of Common Prayer along with you.

Popp and Gyuro Community Life Group: Fellowship/Food/Football – If you want a place to get to know some new people from church, come join us for evening fellowship on Sundays from 5-7 p.m. Fellowship and Food are required; football (watching) is optional. Bring a dish to share and enjoy a relaxing evening before the work week begins. This group is open to people of all ages and stages. Kids are welcome, but there is no formal childcare.

Glen Ellyn Community Life Group – This group of men, women, grandparents, families, and singles is in its third year of meeting, and is always happy to invite newcomers! This year we will center our time together around a discussion of Mark Galli’s book Beyond Smells & Bells: The Wonder and Power of the Liturgy. Purchase your copy at a local bookstore or order it on-line, and bring it with you to our first gathering.

Oak Park Community Life Group – We welcome all ages to participate in prayer and fellowship as the Scriptures and Book of Common Prayer guide us. We also anticipate reading Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and discussing practical approaches to living a life modeled by Christ in community.

“Healing through the Sacraments” Book Group – This group will read and discuss the book Healing Through the Sacraments. This is a discussion group, so the vitality and depth of discussion will be rooted in the participation of those who attend. Participants should read the first two chapters prior to the first meeting.

“The Seven Jewish Feasts” Study Group – In Leviticus 23 the Lord institutes seven feasts which He says are not Israel’s feasts but the Lord’s feasts. The first four feasts were important in Christ’s first coming and the last three feasts shadow Christ’s second coming. We will explore these feasts and how they relate to the Old and New Testaments and how they are important to the Jewish world today.

“Learn the New Testament” Study Group – Do you feel like you don’t know the Bible as well as you’d like to? Do you wish you understood how all the Bible stories you’ve learned fit together in a narrative that makes sense? This is a class for men & women who want to gain confidence in their study of the Bible so they can more deeply understand who God is and how He has related to humankind. No prior Bible knowledge is necessary! This class follows a similar class taught on the Old Testament last year. History and geography will be included as we study the life of Jesus, the beginning of the Church, and Paul’s travels. We will also look at the period between the Testaments and how we got our Bible.

College Ministry
Training in Prayer and Healing – The ministry to college students is focused on training students in the ministry skills of prayer and healing. Everyone has brokenness in their lives. Those serious about following Jesus Christ need to learn how to minister to those who are broken, as well as learning to let God minister to them in their brokenness. The program will meet at Wheaton College one Sunday a month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Sunday Dinner at the Ruchs’ Home – Come for the chance to fellowship with Stewart and Katherine at their annual College Dinner. Dinner is followed by games and the chance for “Q & A” with the Ruchs. You will also have the opportunity to meet other college ministers, church staff and clergy. Due to the large number of students that attend this event, it will take place in two shifts. Those whose last names fall between A-M come for the 5:00 pm shift, and those whose last names fall between N-Z come for the 7:00 pm shift.
