Reading the Church Fathers
In this class, we read the classic texts of the early church, looking at the writings of Clement, Ignatius, Polycarp, and Justin, as well eyewitness accounts of the martyrdoms of Polycarp, Perpetua, and others. What we'll discover is how similar their situation was to ours today. The class will read and discuss key passages, and it will be moderated in turns by Stephen and Barbara Gauthier, Joe DeZwaan, and Mark Galli. It will run through Labor Day weekend.
