Join us this Easter season at Church of the Resurrection as we celebrate the miracle that through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God is restoring the beauty and goodness of the world he created. Come and experience this restoration through ancient services of liturgy, music, art, and wonder.
Palm Sunday, 4/13
9am & 11am
Palm Sunday kicks off Holy Week with a celebratory outdoor procession that mirrors Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, creating a palpable excitement while foreshadowing the events to come. We invite all ages to participate. There will be RezKids children’s ministry at both services.
Taizé Service, Wednesday, 4/16
Filled with contemplative music from the Taizé community in France, this one-hour service provides time for quiet prayer and silence and includes the lighting of candles.
Maundy Thursday Service, 4/17
In this service we join Jesus’ disciples at the Last Supper the night before Jesus died. We participate with them as we follow Christ’s words to wash each other’s feet and remember him through Communion. Following the service, there will be a silent procession and an all night prayer vigil. Childcare for children ages 5 and younger until Communion (approx. 8:30pm).
Stations of the Cross 4/18
1pm & 3pm
In this ancient, devotional service we walk with Christ through that last hours of his life, reflecting on his sufferings, death, and burial through music and prayer. We also offer confession to a pastor or priest at 11:30am and 2pm.
Good Friday Service 4/18
This service testifies to the mighty power of Jesus’ death on the Cross, the moment in history that begins the restoration of all good things. Childcare for children 5 and younger until Communion (approx. 8:30pm).
Easter Vigil, 4/19
1pm & 6:30pm
Edman Chapel Wheaton College*
The Easter Vigil is the thrilling culmination of Holy Week and the entire church year. The service begins by taking us on a dramatic, creative, poignant, and sometimes hilarious journey through the stories of the Old Testament that point to Christ. The pinnacle of this service is the Great Alleluia, a moment when the joy of Christ’s resurrection is announced and celebrated with the Holy Noise! Childcare for children 5 and younger until Communion (approx. 2:30pm or 8:30 pm).
