What's Ash Wednesday?
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a forty-day period of preparation for the Great Feast of Easter. On Ash Wednesday, we will kneel before the Lord, confess our sins, and believe the Gospel that through Jesus' death and resurrection God forgives all those who repent. Ashes are imposed onto the forehead as a symbol of repentance, and we celebrate Eucharist together. (Read more about the church tradition of Ash Wednesday here.)
Following our two daytime services and preceding our evening service, we provide an opportunity to make a personal confession to a pastoral leader upstairs. Everyone is welcome to make confession, even if you've never done it before! You will meet with a pastoral leader in a private room, and follow a short liturgy of confession. It's entirely confidential, and deeply moving. (Read more about why we participate in confession here.)
Children and Youth
Childcare will be provided at the 7pm service for ages 0-5 for the first half of the service. There will be no RezKids or RezYouth Midweek. Youth and children are welcome at all three confession times.
