Recently, the Chicago Tribune has featured articles on luxury motels for dogs, animal airlines, organ transplants for pets, and even funeral rites for deceased animals.  Are animals being unduly elevated to the status of surrogate children?  What ought the Christian attitude be toward animals?  On November 1, 8, and 15 our own animal experts, veterinarians Nancy and Aaron Vigil, and Matt Farrelly (who received his M.A. in theology from Wheaton) address the “theology of animals.”  What does scripture say about the relationship of humans to other animals?  How does American practice conform to these theological principals?  And what about animals as sources of food? The second session is taught by Matt Farrelly, who finishes a theology of creation, and Nancy and Aaron Vigil.
