The “great commission,” Jesus’ charge to make disciples of all nations, is among the last and most important words of his earthly ministry.  Yet the task of evangelism seems baffling and scary to many Christians.  On the four Sundays of October (4, 11, 18, and 25) we will hear first from our own deacon Matt Pechanio on the task of evangelism at Church of the Resurrection.  On the 18th and 25th we will hear from Jerry Root, associate director of the Institute of Evangelism at Wheaton College, and one of the nation’s leading speakers on the topic of evangelism.
